CONSULT WITH SUSAN: For parents in complex situations · Grades 3–12
When more information isn't the answer. Clear decisions are.
SOAR GPS Consulting is a short-term, high-clarity consulting experience with Susan — for parents whose situation has gotten layered, conflicted, or stuck.
You're not stuck because you don't have enough information.
You're stuck because you have too much of it — and none of it agrees.
Reports from the school. Recommendations from the pediatrician. Advice from a friend whose situation isn't actually like yours. A list of programs to try, evaluations to schedule, accommodations to fight for. Every input arrives with its own urgency, and every input contradicts at least one other input.
Some version of this is probably true:
- You've tried multiple approaches and aren't sure what's actually helping
- Your child or teen's learning profile is layered, possibly neurodivergent, with multiple things happening at once
- You're holding reports, evaluations, or school input that don't seem to align
- You're facing a decision point — IEP meeting, school transition, evaluation results, end-of-year choices — and the clock is running
- You don't need another list of things to try. You need help deciding what matters now, what can wait, and what to ignore entirely
Clarity isn't more information. It's the right information, in the right order.
GPS Consulting is a focused, short-term engagement designed to help your family decide — not collect more inputs.
Susan reviews everything you've gathered (reports, evaluations, school documents, your own observations), looks for the patterns and contradictions across them, and helps you see what's actually driving the situation underneath. Not labels. Not single-cause explanations. The whole picture.
"Clarity first" usually translates to less to do — not more.
Most parents come out of GPS with a shorter to-do list than they came in with. Not because problems vanished, but because Susan helps you see which moves actually matter, which can wait, and which you can drop entirely. The mental load lifts because the decision-making is no longer yours alone to carry.
A note from Susan
I've sat in your seat.
Susan Kruger Winter, M.Ed. — 30 years working with struggling readers and learners
I've worked with thousands of struggling students, parsed thousands of reports, and helped families make decisions across every kind of complex situation — including layered neurodivergence, conflicting evaluations, and high-stakes school transitions.
I've also been the parent at the IEP meeting, holding stacks of reports for my own kids, trying to decide what to do next. I know what it's like when the inputs don't line up and the stakes are your child's future.
GPS is the engagement I built for parents who want a clear-eyed expert reviewing the whole picture with them — and naming, out loud, what to do next.

You don't have to carry the whole thing alone anymore.
The decisions in front of you are real. The stakes are real. But the load doesn't have to stay all on your shoulders.
GPS is the engagement that takes the responsibility for making sense of your situation and shares it. You stay the parent making the calls. Susan brings the expertise to make those calls clearly.
Reading is the gateway. Thinking is the outcome. Independence is the future.
You don't need more inputs. You need a partner. That's what GPS is for.
