The SOAR® Multi-Media Teacher’s Guide was developed in response to teachers who requested more content than the student book and assessments to monitor progress more scientifically. We wanted to meet teacher’s requests and provide RELEVANT options to help teachers dig deeper with their students. However, we wanted to keep the student book succinct and to-the-point. The Multi-Media Teacher’s Guide emerged as the perfect balance!

The SOAR® Multi-Media Teacher’s Guide is a turn-key presentation tool to share the SOAR® Study Skills program with your students. The Multi-Media Teacher’s Guide is similar to our Tutoring Enrichment Guide, only instead of 6 hour-long sessions there are 20 10-20 minute long lessons. The lessons are ready to go, requiring little preparation time from you.

This web-based resource includes over 180 visual slides that will facilitate instruction for you and promote better learning for your students. Each slide includes teacher tips and instructor notes to provide plenty of background information and assistance with the content. The visuals and interactive slides demonstrate strategies and reinforce concepts. The electronic, multi-media nature of the program is especially engaging for students with learning disabilities (LD) or ADHD.

Spiral review is encorporated throughout the program to tie previous learning into new concepts. The strategies in SOAR® layer nicely into one another, so the spiral review is a great way to build learning connections and help make the information more permanent for your students.

What Is Included in the Multi-Media Teacher’s Guide?

-20 lessons plans that are done for you. The 10-20 minute ready-made lessons can serve as the basis for a study skills class or be embedded across the curriculum.

-180 done-for-you slides with interactive visuals for demonstration/instruction.

-Clean, bright, colorful presentation to capture students interest and reach your “visual” learners.

-Additional internet resources that tie SOAR® into current technologies. This makes the program highly motivational and relevant for students, especially your “kinesthetic” learners!

-A lot of support! If you are unsure of how to teach study skills, we’ve incorporated background information and teaching tips for each step of the way. (But, if you know what you are doing, you don’t have to use them.)

-Complimentary parent resources. We provide many free resources and articles on our website that you are free to distribute to parents. The information compliments what students are learning in SOAR® and provides pointers on how parents can support strategies at home.

-Multiple assessments give you many options and different perspectives to monitor and document students’ progress. Assessments include:
